The Path of an Overcomer

When the world opposes you for where you stand

And they mock and ridicule with a cruel hand;

When you feel hurt and sad by what they do, 

And your faith is tested in ways you never knew. 

Remember God holds your heart in His hand. 

He will vindicate you right where you stand. 

He is never far off as some may suppose. 

The secrets you hold He alone knows. 

He will show you what you need to say. 

At that particular hour, His spirit will convey

Everything necessary in your time of need. 

Just cling to Him, not vengeance or greed. 

When the world opposes us as it often will. 

Look into the heavens and just be still. 

God's hour of vindication is near. 

Step aside and let Him defend you here.

He will decide as He is the ultimate judge. 

So rest in Him, and let go of your grudge. 

It's Him who determines the path of your life,

And for all of your needs He will always provide. 

These storms are a speck in the big picture.

They will soon be a memory, no more than a fixture. 

So as you walk through the rain and the thunder breaks. 

Keep walking, He will protect you and take your heart ache. 

Just keep going, the sun will soon breakthrough 

And you will understand His purpose and His point of view.

Until then, keep walking, taking one-step and then another. 

This is the path of His elect, the path of an overcomer.

Fight! Fight! Fight!

Fight! Fight! Fight!

Fight! Fight! Fight! Is what we all must do.

Stand for the truth, and for what is true.

When it all seems against us don't be afraid

Stand up, Stand tall. The price was paid. 

If God is for us, who can be against us. 

Lean on Him despite any resistance. 

This world will throw arrows and make you question your beliefs

But fight fight fight, assured of your destiny.

Stand up for those you love with all of your heart.

Stand up for what is right from the start. 

Some may shame you, ignore them and move on

Fight Fight Fight and always stand strong. 

Our world today has slipped from its morality

And redefined what is right and wrong for all humanity. 

But God's word remains the same yesterday and today.

Remain in Him and He will show you the way. 

Fight fight fight despite the accusations you hear.

God's law has not changed. It is crystal clear. 

We are not of this world, its politics or its ideals. 

So stay the path and God will show you what is real.

Put on His armor every piece and very part. 

Hold on tight as God purifies your heart. 

He will protect you from the arrows of the enemy. 

And in the end, from their assaults you will be free. 

So my friend when the time is right.

Stand up and Fight fight fight!

But don't go into battle without Him. 

Only God can be your protector and defender until the end.

God's Ways

I write in my profile that my husband is running for office.  What I didn't say is he ran in a democratic stronghold as a Republican.   He was assured God called him you do this, but not for the reason he thought. He didn't question God though and the next day, something came to me and I shared it with him.  I said "I think the purpose of this was so you could see how many people would vote for you because you couldn't tell who would, as there was no data because no one ever ran before.  Now you have a target goal of who to reach out to."   

There are stories we all could tell of things we believe God called us to do and we don't understand how it seems to not be working out the way we thought.  I was thinking on this when I wrote the following.

God's Ways

To fear God and follow his will.

To listen and to just be still

To Simply obey his voice

Making his will our final choice

It doesn't always turn out the way we think it should.

But his ways are not our ways that much is understood.

We may question sometimes why.

As we follow him on the road of life.

Success is measured by the worldview.

Not the same way that God chooses to.

We think it will be easy as God told us to do it.

But there are barriers and we can't always get through it. 

 . 

God tells us to do things and we don't always understand. 

But we still follow and obey His command. 

To run for an office they say we can't win

And when we lose he says let's do this again

You see when we promised him our lives

We knew there would be things that would be a surprise.

When the result of our choice to follow Him. 

Does not turn out like we thought in the end. 

God's ways are not our ways so we declare. 

That we will trust Him and not live in despair. 

We will keep going and joyously follow along. 

Knowing He will fulfill what he started making us strong. 

 

Just follow Him and when the cloud moves let's move too.

To the next destination, and He will show us what to do

Don't spend too much time trying to figure out the why

Just follow him as He shows you His plan for your life.

Us Plus God

Us Plus God 

For decades the world has claimed we are the minority. 

Unknown to them that us plus God equals a majority.

And on November 5, He made it perfectly clear. 

That He is the one that causes Kingdoms to rise and He is near. 

I do not boast of how we won because one thing I know.

It wasn't the votes, it was God who made such a show.

He works in the hearts of men still today. 

And He hears us when we earnestly pray. 

Though there are those who demonize the one God chose. 

God's ways are not our ways, and the heart of man He alone knows. 

His Law is what defines evil and good. 

And this, the world has long misunderstood.

Us plus God equals a majority. 

With His armor on, we gain His authority.  

All things on earth are under His control. 

And He reigns in the earth. When He speaks, it is so. 

The problem begins when we try to decide.

And define morality on our terms and our pride. 

When we replace God with our own theology. 

And lean on man's wisdom and the world's psychology. 

And for decades that is what has been done.

We've defined morality and removed Jesus the Son. 

When men stand up against open borders

The name calling begins from the distortors.

Pro life activists are called hateful and cruel.

As if we don't care about women and think them a fool.

And those of us who want children to be children again. 

Are condemned for discriminating against them. 

I could go on about how our world has got It all wrong. 

And cast my stones at them all and claim to stand strong. 

But I understand they have their viewpoint as well. 

It's just not where most of us dwell. 

God honors those who follow Him. 

And changes their hearts within. 

And with him by your side you cannot fail.

God plus you means you will prevail. 

God plus us equals a majority today. 

And He will uphold us as we continue to pray

The world doesn't choose though, they may think they do. 

So my friend, when will you decide to make it God plus you?

Followers

 Social media is a big deal today. I recently joined X but I really didn't know why I bothered because I'm not a celebrity I don't have a lot of followers. I will post stuff on Facebook and it doesn't look like anyone has read it and I'm like what's the point God? Do I really want to bother with any of this? Is this where you want me to minister? And as I was questioning God about that a while back, I believe I heard Him in His still small voice say "all you need is one follower and leave the rest to me." I thought about that today which led me to write the following:

Followers

I have one follower and one like on my Facebook. 

I kept going back and taking a second look.

I went to my X account and what did I see?

Nobody noticed anything I wrote including me.

Until one day I heard a still small voice saying “it's not about you.

Quit obsessing about how many followers you have and just write what is true

You plant the seeds but I water them and make them grow

The followers you have are stored in heaven that only I know.”

I then went to the grocery store and saw a woman alone.

She looked hungry so I bought her lunch and went home.

Unknown to me she had just prayed and was sure that God wouldn't provide.

This one act of love gave her hope that she thought was denied.

We never know why God calls us to do the things that we do.

He is a creator it's all perfectly planned from His point of view

We may think all this doesn't matter but we are unable to see,

God's plan for the things He's calling to be.

We live in a world that wants results for what we have done and said. 

We want to take credit when it is God's to take instead.

He leads us share a post or write something from our heart 

That one follower will share it again with someone who needed to hear a part. 

But it doesn't really matter if we have one follower or how many there are.

Because God's the one that takes His word and carries it far. 

Each interaction we have in each day that we live,

Is significant in heaven as we learn how to give.

But the most important interaction we can have with mankind,

Is not just telling them Jesus loves them and being kind. 

It's to show them in word indeed the grace that he gives,

And to exemplify his love and the life that He’s called us to live

It's not to condemn those who view the world differently than us.

We are all in a different place and have a different levels of trust.

We need only to be true to Him and share His truth always in love,

And and go where he leads with our eyes focused only above.

The Rusty Old Church

 The Rusty Old Church

Standing on the outside so magnificent and grand.

Beautiful and majestic the church once stood in this land.

But somewhere along the way, it lost its voice. 

And it became weak and frail by its carnal choice. 

Now people walk by and look over at her and scoff. 

So many have lost faith, and so many are lost. 

Her beautiful appearance once shiny and clear, 

Have been rusted over by doubt, disillusionment and fear.

The gardener first stopped tending and the painters ran out of paint. 

Over time there were fewer prayers from the saints.

The building started to break down and there was no one inside. 

To upkeep and take care of the furniture and grounds with pride.

Today as I look out at that once grand building and steeple.

I see no victory or hope on the faces of the people. 

I fall down and cry at what was once grand. 

And ask God how will we ever fulfill your plan?

But I looked at the church and realized I misunderstood.

The building is man's vow to God, which failed as only it could. 

The real church resides inside of our hearts.

Its God's vow to write His law in our innermost part. 

Standing so magnificent and strong,

Is God's Church, the body of Christ, who have been there all along. 

While some may have lost their voice. 

God is calling a remnant who have made Him their choice. 

And all will be made right once again. 

Only the building will be shining from the hearts of men. 

Because the innkeeper and Head is Jesus Christ.

Who will come again and make all things right.

Where Do You Stand

Today, we live in a world of polarity.  The left and the right accuse one another of misinformation and which side do you believe?  The truth is, neither one.  I of course am a Conservative Republican, but before all of that, I am a Christian and follow Jesus Christ.   I was thinking on this when I wrote the following poem. 

WHERE DO YOU STAND?

In a world of division and polarity. 

Where each side claims their morality.

It's hard to see what the truth really is.

Each side has an argument for and against.

It begs the question of where I stand. 

On the precepts of God or on man. 

It seems when there is an election

Both sides are assured of their acceptance or rejection. 

We have our beliefs and are sure we know

That the side we stand on is right and not just for show.

And when we hear the other side's rhetoric. 

We quickly dismiss it as misinformation and reject it. 

So where do you truly stand. What do you believe?

Are you absolutely convinced you haven't been deceived?

Do you have idols in your heart guiding your way.  

Or do you put aside your point of view and look to God and pray? 

So many times we reject the truth and things we don't want to hear. 

Because it takes us out of our comfort zone and triggers our fear. 

And in a day and age where good is evil and evil is good

God’s word is readily rejected as out of date and misunderstood. 

So where are you today? Living YOUR truth?

In exchange for what God has shown your to do?.

Are you open to hearing Gods plan?

Or would you rather continue to listen to man?

It’s not always popular when God calls us out. 

To stand on HIS Word, have faith and not doubt. 

But when we follow that still small voice. 

It doesn't matter anymore, as we have made our choice. 

In a world of division and polarity. 

In a world of sin and immorality. 

Which road will you choose to follow. 

The one of truth or the one that is hollow.
